I’m Heidi Richardson Evans, a mostly-vegetarian, feminist, activist wannabe, artist mama from Charleston, WV. I live with my husband, daughter, and a dear old dog named Dharma in a house made of mismatched reclaimed bricks.
I only end a sentence with a preposition if I'm drunk.
I've been writing online since 1997ish (when I had NO idea someone had invented a thing called a BLOG and so I hand coded the html. Gak.) Daisybones.com was born in 2006, a little while after the Mollybird. It has grown with me since then and morphed from frustrated creative slacker anonymous mommyblog to whatever you find here now. I get enough hits that I'm now hosting ads, and I strive for integrity and transparency with regard to my blog income. Like this: I make pitifully little as a blogger. And my Amazon links? They are stealth affiliate ads. So there.
I live in thrift clothes, a nosering, and tattoos. I was born in 1976 and think the best shoes ever are circa 1994. My favorite words are epiphane, synaesthesia, azure, diaphanous, verdant, meta, and indigo. When it occurs to me, I write about my experience as an anatomical noncomformist- possessing a fascinatingly weird claw hand, a few extra organs, and a crooked spine with extra vertebrae. (The resulting pain, along with my super-fun case of PMDD, I can be a whiner of grandiose proportions. I'm working on that.)
I'm obsessed with thrift shopping and in my day-job life I manage a YWCA charity thrift store. We fund housing for domestic abuse survivors. You can follow @ywcashops on Twitter and Facebook.
